 The name of the disease is malaria. Malaria kills an estimated 3 million people a year out of the 247 million cases. Malaria is caused by female mosquitoes who carry the disease and transmit it to humans and other animals by sucking their blood. Malaria is found in over 100 countries, and is one of the most deadly protists on Earth.
